Background

Lucy is a lecturer and dually qualified Dental Hygienist-Therapist with experience in the clinical field. During her career, Lucy has worked for various Public Dental Services in the central belt of Scotland. Post graduation Lucy completed a Vocational Traineeship with NHS Fife and has since completed Inhalation Sedation training. Lucy started lecturing in September 2016 for BSc Oral Health Sciences (Hons) at the University of Edinburgh. Lucy achieved her Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Research interests

Lucy has a keen interest in dental anxiety management and the management of paediatric patients which led her to Inhalation Sedation training. 

Awards and memberships

Lucy was awarded best overall student in 2009 as an undergraduate student at the University of Dundee. Lucy is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene & Therapy.
