Andreana is a clinical tutor, based at Edinburgh Dental Institute, and has worked at University of Edinburgh since 2013.

Background

Andreana graduated Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1986 from University of Dundee. Having worked in NHS followed by private practice for most of her career, an interest in dental education led to a position with NHS Fife with  supervision of final year dental and hygiene therapy students at an Outreach Clinic forming part of the job role. Becoming a trainer of CT2 dentists confirmed that being involved in education was the pathway she wanted to follow, and joined the Oral Health Sciences team in 2013.

Research Interests

Andreana has a keen interest in clinical education and in particular the use of haptic technology for the teaching of clinical skills.

Awards and memberships

Andreana is an examiner for RCSEd.

Nominated for Best Supervisor Award 2018-19 EUSA Teaching Awards.
